Does it support recording the desktop? Last time I was looking for a desktop recording utility, I had a hard time finding one. Here is an application. http://youtu.be/yOXrAQhShDk
"Game DVR does not have a desktop recording capability – AMD/Raptr haven’t mentioned whether they’re working on it, but we’d certainly hope they are – so any game that Game DVR fails to detect is currently unrecordable."
An option for 4:4:4 would be nice. According to the all-knowing wikipedia, VCE 1.0 supports 4:2:0 for Trinity, Richland, and Southern Island while VCE 2.0 supports 4:4:4 for Kaveri, Jaguar, Kabini, Temash, Puma, Beema, Mullins, Sea-Islands, Bonaire, and Hawaii.
That's part of the solution, if it works. But the Gaming Evolved client also offers optimized settings for many games, like nVidia's Geforce Experience.
I haven't experimented with the AMD Gaming Evolved suggested settings but they are really terrible in the Nvidia Geforce Experience. I can't believe anyone would use the settings it suggested. The combinations didn't make any sense. This is after trying Several. Call of Duty games including Ghosts with a GTX 760.
Just some actual factual information: the "Gaming Evolved" ads/gamification/rewards/social bloat is NOT part of the drivers, but an add-on that can be removed if undesired. It comes bundled with the drivers, similar to the Ask Toolbar (or Chrome) coming bundled with Java, and can be equally not installed.
So a copy of Nvidia but farmed out to a 3rd party, with advertising inserted. I assume somewhere down the line AMD will assert in a PR event or press release that they came out with this first.
I think it's probably just the dvr that was already built into raptr with some amd specific optimizations. Xfire and Raptr both had this type of thing built in long before the graphics vendors got involved.
There's a reason a lot of people stick with nVidia even through slower releases, the software experience is still years ahead of AMD. Who's honestly happy with this implementation?
All this social media garbage is just another layer of data mining, and it's serving you ads on top of that. Lol

I don't want ads, gamification/rewards, and social integration in my graphics drivers, thanks very much. The Raptr integration is a real misstep.Flunk - Friday, June 27, 2014 - link
The rewards are structured as to be nearly impossible to earn as well.Thracks - Friday, June 27, 2014 - link
Then use the VCE-enabled fork of OBS: https://obsproject.com/forum/threads/obs-fork-bran...schizoide - Friday, June 27, 2014 - link

I have to agree, so far my experience with these has been less-than-positive.Ammaross - Tuesday, July 1, 2014 - link

I wouldn't use either the Nvidia or AMD application. I'm happy with drivers simply being drivers.Kanuj5678 - Monday, August 11, 2014 - link
thanks good read DVR will take time to mature and see some gain in the near future , Nvidia has been way ahead from AMD on this front at least.Kanuj
