Looks impressive from Movidius/Intel. I know these don't scale infinitely, but 1 TOP/w is still pretty impressive!

I am curious what type of products will this be used in. My only thought would be something like Microsoft HoloLens. It be cool in game consoles in the future.

Any low-power edge device that needs more inferencing power than an ARM chip can provide on its own. Drones for inspecting infrastructure, mobile security cameras, etc. NVIDIA and Microsoft researchers have each trained networks to control sprinkler systems to scare away cats and squirrels, respectively.

I can't get past the name being silkscreened on in Comic Sans.

Took me a long time staring at it and trying to figure out how they came to this... I even imagined an engineer drawing the markings by hand and then scanning to use over the chip...

I don't think it really looks like Comic Sans. Comic Sans has wavy lines, asymmetric curves, and unequal length stems. Everything seems just a little bit off kilter. This Movidius font is very regulated-looking, with symmetric, simple curves, and straight lines.

Maybe what gives a similar impression is that Comic sans is a little more rounded looking than most standard fonts, and this Movidius font is very rounded? It's far more rounded than Comic Sans, though. Maybe part of the issue is that it is written onto a rough surface so there's a certain amount of irregularity because of that.

    It is Diavolo

I just looked up Diavlo and it doesn't look like that at all, either.

    Diavlo*

Though perhaps they should have used Myriad!

Yeah it's Diavlo, if Diavlo uses Comic Sans letter shapes.

The bottom line is Comic Sans, and the top line is about as similar to Diavlo as it is to a few dozen other fonts.

Looking forward to the innovation from this showing up in virtual reality and augmented reality by recognizing surroundings for a graphics card to draw in.
