Samsung has today issued a press release which officially unveils the white version of their popular Galaxy S II. This announcement has been widely expected for awhile already, thus it is not a big surprise. The major specs will be the same as the black version's.

Evidently, the white version will launch in Korea today but global availability is unknown at the moment. Phonesreview.co.uk is claiming September 1st availability in the UK, so global launch should take place within a month or so.

You can get it subsidies by carriers in Europe, didn't delay it any here...
If anything the problem is that you carriers all must have their logos on phones and they'd prefer if every phone they sell are exclusive to them...

How comes this is also listed under "mobile"? Cant you keep the news off of all other pages on AT, and just keep news on the "pipeline" page? It makes it hard sorting through news and actual reviews/articles. It's a bit messy.

I do like you having this kind of news on here though, as Dailytech is a total joke these days, reporting less and less TECH news and becoming more and more bias and political.

I think it's on the to-do list to add filters (i.e. you could only see news or pipeline etc on the selected category). Tags can still be useful as sometimes people may be looking news that are in the pipeline section. Also, "real" articles have pictures on them (pipelines don't) so it's fairly easy to see which are long, thorough pieces.

It is definitely needed though, so thanks for reminding us :-)

And this new pipeline is meant for things like this. Short and quick articles, mainly about new releases and similar stuff. The front page will remain for longer articles with thorough analysis. Before we didn't really have a place for short articles, and Anand still wanted to cover them.

Besides, I didn't see any major sites reporting this, thus the article. If it had already been in the headlines of all the other sites, then I would have skipped.

For god's sake, lighten up. Regardless of the tech merits, it's FUNNY.
Did you not get the point of daverivera's comment higher up?

I think it's a nice looking phone, actually, and thanks for the heads up!! My dad loves his white Fascinate.

I agree that we need to see some SGSII action in the U.S., and SOON.

Will the GPS still be broken like on the original galaxy s? Mine still doesn't work. They promised updates week after launch but cannot fix with updates...
